While it’s not the biggest install size for a PS4 game, it’s one of the biggest for a game at launch. For comparisons, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was 100GB when it launched, while Red Dead Redemption 2 was 105GB and the Call of Duty Modern Warfare reboot was 150GB. Including updates since release, Modern Warfare is now nearing a whopping 200GB.
Like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us 2 physical edition will ship with two Blu-ray discs.
Naughty Dog’s follow-up to 2013’s The Last of Us was delayed earlier this year because of logistical concerns surrounding COVID-19. However, following a massive leak of the game in recent days, both Sony and Naughty Dog have confirmed that The Last of Us 2 will release on June 19.
If you’ve yet to secure your copy of the game, pre-orders are currently live. Head over to our TLoU2 pre-order guide to see what’s in each edition. Currently, the highly-popular Ellie Edition is back in stock, but if history’s any indication, it will sell out fast.
